Hi

This all started for me back in August when I felt a slight buzzing in my left foot, this then progressed to body wide twitching, the twitching then settled into the legs mainly, I have mainly been having symptoms on my left side, buzzing sensation, slight shivering feeling and some shooting pains in leg, more recently I have developed a pain in the left arm which starts in the shoulder that is radiating down to the arm.

I have seen a neurologist and she done a clinical exam and didn’t see anything alarming, but has offered me an MRI and EMG which I’m due next week.

I understand that sensory symptoms can point away from ALS, but I have seen people on here who have been diagnosed say they experience some sensory symptoms and have had pain.

Just feeling quite nervous and don’t want to worry my family. I’m 33F

Thanks

Pain in ALS is down to not being able to move, not a key feature at onset. And the rest of what you've mentioned doesn't synch with ALS either. So I would not worry. You will know more after your tests, but this sounds systemic to me, if anything.

I would also maybe video/track your sleep data with a wearable to make sure that you are being well-supported in sleep and sleeping well.
