Hello!
I am 32/m.

I have some issues for the last month:
1) Trouble swallowing saliva, I just can't get it down. Can drink and eat solid foods, but feel a bit trouble with it too but can manage to get it down. Sometimes I cough after eating.

2) Stiff jaw and tongue. I don't have slurred speech, but tongue and jaw feel stiff and become tired more often.
3) Soreness in arms and legs. No atrophy yet, but they feel sore right from the morning when I wake up. And they much weaker overall.
4) Twitching mainly in legs.

I had EMG some time ago, but they only did my deltoids on both sides and said it was enough to see if there is some spontaneous activity going. And it was clean for that.

Now I am worried that it can be ALS.

Thanks in advance!🙏

ALS does not present as rapidly and comprehensively as you describe, nor with consistent morning soreness. With the wide range of symptoms, if they all have emerged in the last month, the best bet is a virus or rheumatologic disease. I would certainly contact your doctor for evaluation and treatment, and consider your sleep and hydration as well.

Best,
Laurie

Thanks, Laurie!

I will continue to work with my doctor, God Bless!
