Hello to all of you lovely people. I’m sorry to ask these questions.
I’ve been unwell for 10 weeks with really bad digestive issues that the doctors are saying is functional dyspepsia since having many tests. It’s wiped me out and lost 1.5 stone. I had 2 endoscopies. About three weeks ago I started having problems swallowing and increased saliva, globus sensation, post nasal drip, waking choking. Have been in hospital and had a swallow study. They found acid reflux in that study on standing. They believe this is causing swallowing issues and increased saliva etc. Because I’ve not been eating well I have lost muscle and I’ve been in bed mainly. I have been experiencing some body jerks in bed. I’m guessing it’s lack of nutrients, stress, fatigue. I’ve become super worried that it’s something more sinister. Do any of my symptoms suggest this. Thank you in advance.

Hello-

Please read here: Read Before Posting. It outlines why nothing you report is anything like ALS. Please return to your doctor if you have further questions about your symptoms. What you are experiencing is systemic and involves digestion, etc.

Take care

Hello and thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate your response to me. I’m sorry to bother you. I’m having an awful time at the minute.

I'd certainly make sure your reflux is adequately treated. Sometimes new-onset adult food allergies are a culprit, so your diet could be something to track. I would also try to spend time outside of bed to keep things moving.

You can use a vitamin-fortified protein powder or cereal to help get your nutrition up to par. You're right -- that's critical to everything.

Update

Swallow still feels off and increased saliva still there. Post nasal drip and mucous after eating and drinking.
Having a problem getting good sleep. Woken up with fast heart rate and lower sats level. Stomach churning feeling, Happens a few times each night.
Emg last week was all ok. Needle inserted in limbs and under jaw.
