Hello,

I have had some concerning symptoms and am checking to see if these symptoms relate to Bulbar ALS at all. I have felt like I have had a hard time speaking as my tongue does not seem to work correctly and more frequently hits my teeth. I have also been having a difficult time as my lips seem to stick together and sometimes even stick to my teeth. I have been experiencing difficulty swallowing at times, feeling like something is caught in the back of my throat and have had a lot of food particles sticking in the back or sides of my mouth. I have also been experiencing a cough, occasionally while or after eating, and a phlegmy throat and nasal congestion that seems to get much worse after eating.

Thank you for your time!

Grace

If no one has commented on your speech, then allergies, GERD and/or dry mouth are the leading explanations. There is no reason to suspect ALS.

Best.
