Hello— thank you to all the moderators that take time out of their lives to read and answer these questions.

I am a 34 year old female and have 2 beautiful children. I also have pretty good health anxiety after a health scare 2 years ago (changes in vision, numbness/tingling, brain fog). I had an MRI and the neurologist was pretty sure I had MS based on my brain lesions, but after a lumbar puncture, I was cleared of that.

A few months ago, I woke up with numbness in my right arm and leg that lasted about an hour. Since then, I have had continuous “weakness” in both quads and forearms (I can still walk and perform tasks, but not for nearly as long as I could have a few months ago without tiring out or needing a break). I have also had tightness in my right calf that I feel like I constantly need to stretch.

My most bothersome symptom is the twitching, however. It started as mostly just in both legs, buttocks. But now I have them in my hands, arms, and even my stomach. They are pretty much constant and only seem to be getting more frequent.

I went back to my neurologist about a week ago and they scheduled an EMG. I do have brisk reflexes, which I believe I’ve had for many years so they don’t concern me too much. I wish it didn’t take months to get an EMG scheduled.

Any insight on these symptoms?
