This has been the most terrifying month of my life. I have noticed weakness in my ankles for about two months now. It was less when I wore the right shoes instead of my slippers. So it went unnoticed. Than five weeks ago I started to get all these twitches everywhere. On my face, legs, arms, feet, hands, shoulders. Like 24/7. After two weeks of twitching I went to see the neurologist and did an EMG test, and it came out clean. She reasshured me that if I had ALS it would be noticable, with the amount of twitches I had. Two weeks ago the twitching went down, but was focussed on my "bad" foot. (The twitching was really bad, like 3 every second) The pain on my ankles worsened even though I took my "rest". And after two weeks the cramps came. Like little cramps on different parts of my foot. That can hold on for like a hour. And dont go away with movement. Two days ago a pain started in my handpalm that doesnt go away. It stays there. With my pink and ringfinger that hurts. (Typical symptoms of a carpal tunnel syndrome) this is making me think of ALS. But I am not shure if it can spread this fast. Can someone help me

Hi there-

We do ask that people read here first: Read Before Posting. It explains why twitching without weakness points elsewhere. Along with your clean emg and clinical exam by a neurologist, you have been cleared of ALS. Pain also points to something else as well, so an ALS forum is not going to be helpful to you If you have further questions, please return to your doctor.

Please take care

Hey! Thank you for your respond! I feel like there has been weakness in my feet/leg because my ankle is not stable and bent to the inside. When there is a muscle weakened, it can give you pain on top of your feet. I also dont have any balance in the foot. I can still stand om my toes but when I point my toes my whole foot twitches as a reaction. Its very strange to me.

I sure it must be. However, this is something you must work with a doctor and/or a physiotherapist to sort out. You have been cleared of ALS, so this forum is not helpful to you.

All the best
