I'd like a moderator to do this. I've provided links to the ad and images of the ad.

In fact the post I made with the ads link hasn't been approved by any moderator.

Tim, please just listen to this - moderators CANNOT DO THIS. Wanting it won't make that so.

They are just forum users who get an extra control panel.

If you have a problem contact David who owns the forum, pays its expenses and receives the revenue from those ads.

Moderators report and communicate to "David".

You're not the first to mention this, and it's only an issue for a few.

If you wish to elevate it to David, feel free.

The Mods have enough to chase that stuff like this is lost in the noise. We're not going to bother, sorry.

Hey, Weird, I don't like that ad, either. But I use adblocker, so I never see ads. (I thought EVERYONE used an ad blocker :) )

Let me help a little.

First, however, I'm a little surprised that you, a PALS, would ignore how ALS affects someone, even a mod. They're working pretty hard for many hours, largely behind the scenes fixing stuff. Some of them can't work a keyboard because they're paralyzed. If you're full of energy and able to type with little effort, maybe you could make the report yourself?

Second, if/when a post doesn't show immediately--the system sends "posts with links" to a queue for mod approval. If a mod is on duty at the moment, and is not engaged in another task, they'll get to it. They sleep, too, and have clinic appointments, and sometimes, simply need a break.

The policy of "you saw it--you report it" makes a lot of sense. It does two things:

#1 First, it gives the user--you--the power to fix a problem that you want fixed.

#2 Second, it places responsibility on the one who is both empowered (see #1) and motivated (complaining). That makes sense.

You were invited, nicely, to take an active role in the forum. Not many forums will give a user such an opportunity.

So, since you are motivated and have been given the power, perhaps you could help the forum out by making that report as suggested.
Let us know if you would like help with anything.

Seems like a good time to remind anyone who isn't using an ad blocker, like WeirdTim, evidently, that by Googling ad blocker and whatever your browser is, you can find one and add it to your browser for free.

Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin are the two most popular. You can even install both.

Best,
Laurie

weird Tim. I wonder why you continue to visit this forum. You seem angry at the format and cause the mods to do so much extra work. We get that you are doing well with treatment and are hereby happy for you. We welcome your progress reports, but the remainder of your posts feel like baiting or badgering and not helpful.
I've stayed out of this m, but now that I am dying sooner rather than later I figured what the hell.

frankly if I were a mod I would ignore or delete your unhelpful posts, but they are kinder and more patient than I.

get an ad blocker and you won't be subjected to that n, nonsense l!

The only way this forum exposes emails is if the user posts it.

I cannot think of a forum that does reveal that info....

I'm sorry, Tim, how does this page relate to our not exposing user emails? If you are referring to our duty of care, I think you know that page lays out our criteria for editorial rather than advertiser content. No one affiliated with the forums has time to police ads that no one has to read (Remember the ad blocker thing? I should have also mentioned AdBlocker as a mobile phone browser that works well in this regard.)

But thank you for reminding us how well the treatment you promote meets the criteria of "scam" as laid out on that page. Disparaging vanilla science and other treatments is always step one. You are pointing to a good argument for closing the RCH4 thread.

Laurie, I posted that link to demonstrate this forum doesn't allow or promote SPAM like the pop up ads promoting cures. That's all.

To Call RCH4 a scam is over stepping things a bit too much. As a scam is defined by paying for something and not receiving anything in return. As you also know concerning RCH4 that is not the case as we receive it at no cost AND it works very well . Please see mine and others charts in this forum and PLM.

Just not sure what your intentions are here . I was just concerned about those pop up ads causing others to be confused, especially New users here.

Why do my posts have to be reviewed before they are seen? This last one contained no links.

There are also trigger words. Those were set up long before I came here. There is no list but recent postings that have ended up in automod ( not just yours) have contained the abbreviation for another website so I suspect that is a trigger. No I don’t know why. And no I can not change it. I can’t even see the list
