I agree, new batteries for my second wheelchair are $1000.00
 
Being a mechanic myself,working on the wheelchairs is not the problem for me. Parts and pricing are. Good batteries are expensive,i bought mine from napa when they had a 20% off deal going,still cost $450. Wanting to add features is where the problems really surface, like adding recline to my wifes backup that i purchased off ebay, found the cylinder on ebay cheap compared to new,install no problem,try to get numotion to program it for me,ya,sure. Not happening. They definately have you where they want you. Pass that law in california!
 
I asked my insurance carrier (Medicare Advantage Plan) if any power chair repairs were covered. The reply: We don't know, ask NuMotion. Good Grief! I have a chair that's 5 or 6 years old and haven't had anything done to it. I sure don't know what to expect when it gives out.
