Hi all. I am rapidly losing my voice and trying to voice bank ASAP. My test submissions keep getting bounced because of "clipping" I don't know what this means and cannot find info in ModelTalker's FAQ. Can someone clarify? Thanks a bunch

Clipping is digital distortion

Clipping is when sounds are recorded at too high an amplification, and become distorted as a result. Probably you were speaking too close to the microphone or the input volume was set too high.

There is a free app called Audacity available for download for Mac, Linux, and Windows. Depending on the causes of the clipping and what kind it is, Audacity may be able to remove the clipping from your sound files.

Best,
Laurie

Thank you so much! This whole thing is still new and almost overwhelming...so much I don't know and have no idea where to ask for help (or sometimes even WHAT to ask). I am grateful to have found this forum. Thanks again.

Thanks. This is all a learning process.
