I have read in Science Daily reports of numerous 'promising' results, one of which was 8 years ago at Harvard by Dr. Eggan. What has happened to it I wonder. There is most definitely something wrong. The entire system of research and getting drugs approved for use is dysfunctional in my opinion. What's happening with this one?

One of the things that came out of that work was that retigabine, a med used for seizures, looked like it reduced irritability and was helpful in the IPS model. It can be prescribed off label and is also going into clinical trials very shortly
IPS technology is very cool. I am glad to say that both my sister and I donated skin samples to make IPS cells that were used in that very study. My sister is now taking retigabine, not sure if it is slowing things down for her or not.
