One thing that I would like to say and that we learned late with my grandmother is to get the PEG tube. Get it before you loose to much weight. Also, learned Friday that when you get choked food could go into your lungs and cause various infections. Doctors suggest that when you start choking and have issues swallowing that you limit your food by mouth because you could get prenumonia. Have you received the prenumonia shot?
My grandmother is now getting choked on salava. And it scares us to death. She came to realize that she does not need to eat by mouth anymore when her cough assist machine was pulling food out of her lungs, or should I say it was helping her to cough the particals out of her lungs. If they stay in there it could lead to infection.
