Hello, I am grateful to the organizers of the forum for creating the opportunity to ask such questions here. I apologize in advance for my, perhaps not very good English.
A week ago, I began to experience discomfort in my left leg when walking. I would describe this as a feeling of weakness, but I still climb and go down the stairs, do not stumble when walking, etc. However, I “feel” my leg all the time if you understand what I mean. Sometimes she aches and there are muscle twitching, although I know that this is not a specific symptom of ALS. I noticed that when squatting, it is more difficult for me to hold the weight on my left leg than on the right, there is trembling. In addition, I feel some weakness in my left hand.
It is worth adding that I am a very disturbing person.
From the materials of this forum, I know that at my age (19), the probability of the occurrence of the ALS is approximately equal to the probability of abduction by aliens (my closest relatives did not have bass, but I know nothing about very distant), but I am still worried. In addition, I read that clinical weakness means “the inability to do something”, but if a person can perform movement, but this causes him difficulties, then this is not clinical weakness. Therefore, I want to ask the following questions:
- Are my symptoms similar to the ALS?
- Should I undergo examinations on this?
- The manifestation of clinical weakness immediately begins with the impossibility of doing anything or at the beginning can manifest itself in the form of the need for greater muscle tension when performing actions?
I apologize if my questions seem stupid to you. If you have free time and desire, answer them, please.
Take care of yourself. Thank you.
