Anyone received approval for walkin tub vs shower? thanks

Just a comment about the tub. You have to sit in it while the water drains. There is the issue of being chilly while that happens unless you add a heat source above. I would also worry about accessibility ,ability to recline , the ease of an assistant bathing you and quick egress in an emergency

Agreed, I would go for a shower -- will take you further down the road and you can customize it pro tem to have more of a sauna feel.

Best,
Laurie

I am not yet in a wheelchair and I love my accessible shower. There is a pull down bench (which can later be used by a caregiver) and grab bars all over the place. Shower on one side and hand shower on the other side. Easy to get in and out both by foot and with roll-in shower chair.

Definitely go with a shower.

a walk in tub will be a great place to drown once you lose core strength.

Well, my question was aimed at VA Approval. So no one has a tub? Got it. You see I only have 3ft x 5ft to work with.

If you Google ADA shower stall you will see various models that are just under and just over 3x5.

Va likes a 4x5 shower space
. They may add on to your house, use pt if a closet etc
