Questions about coughing. During the night, I awoke and was coughing, but instead of asking my husband to help with the cough assist, I let myself eventually go back to sleep. After I awoke, four hours later , the cough wasn't there. I used the cough assist and my breathing had no signs of mucus.
The night before I had coughing at 3 am, woke, used cough assist repeatedly, bringing up mucus. Returned to sleep, an hour later, coughing returned, cough assist repeatedly, and the cycle repeated every hour. I finally was free of coughing by mid morning.
Can anyone explain what happened to the cough last night? Where would that mucus go?
