Has anyone used the Speax system or something similar?
Ataiamedical dot com

PALS is now using Bipap almost all day and it’s so hard to communicate with the mask on.

There’s also the Reddyport product ( reddyport dot com)

We are buying to Speax system. The cost is $500 for a year’s supplies or a monthly option at $49/month. They offer a full refund if it doesn’t work for the PALS.
I’ll let everyone know if it works for us.

In addition, is your PALS using a nasal mask? The right mask and minimizing leak should make the noise more manageable for speech.

He uses the Resmed F20 and F30 masks. The company said they have had successes and failures with both masks. We have all leaks minimized.

So, mixed results with the Speax system. It’s amazing easy to set up and use. But we haven’t had good results with the F30 mask. Chuck’s voice is amplified but there’s too much distortion to clearly hear him. But it works reasonably well with the F20 mask; not perfect but his voice is more audible.
He continues to use the F30 mask during the day but we switch to the F20 with the attached Speax amplifier when he has company.
