Hi...
I'm new, and I don't have ALS, but a member of my immediate family might. He told us he thinks he has it about 2 months ago, but we really thought it was in his head at first (i believe him now). He complains of random twitches (both arms, both legs) and general muscle weakness, and pain in his hands and shoulders. He also complains of an ear flutter, and says that is what made him believe he has it. He has seen two doctors who said (almost literally) that he's crazy. But he has a coworker who had it and passed away from it and he is convinced that some environmental factor at work is the cause.
Also we live in the middle east - diagnosis here is not easy, the specialists are few and far between. He aims to travel in April to get the tests done back home (in Canada)... But as I understand it, things could be pretty grim by then.
I'm trying ti understand his situation, but am still holding out on hope that it might be a vitamin D deficiency or something. What do you guys think?
Thanks.
