Update emg results

Here is my emg result .It showed abnormality in the FDI muscle .Is that consistant with ALS ? I have thenar weakness in addition I do have all symptoms of Als ( fasiculations , severe r leg atrophy , disphagia ,jaw and neck weakness )..I have to wait for a neurologist appointment to know if that is Als ..

What abnormality. The interpretation is normal and apparently you had no spontaneous activity at all. The wording except the last I guess refers to the fdi? whatever they saw was apparently not acute denervation like ALS because it says silence at rest everywhere . If you have charts post them please

if your symptoms were due to ALS you would show abnormalities in many muscles and the fdi would have showed acute denervation

Do I have to wait and repeat the emg to rule Als out ?? The one who performed the emg asked me to keep it for further comparison ..thus I guess she suspects ALS..

I still can’t tell what the alleged abnormality is. if your leg was atrophied due to ALS ithe emg would not have been essentially normal as the interpretation says. I am not clairvoyant I do not know another person’s thoughts but emgs are not just a test for ALS. You need to speak with the ordering physician but the report is not at all suspicious for ALS. We can’t tell you more than that

They did Al. See first post. It says within normal limits but there is a vague comment about fdi It is clear no acute denervation though

From your previous post of non-ALS symptoms, and this post with your non-ALS EMG, that leaves you in the clear from having this horrid disease. A big congrats to you!

The FDI muscle is atrophied .When I searched FDI atrophy ,I found out it is specefic to ALS .. Can the vague abnormality of the emg in addition to the FDI atrophy be anything other than ALS?

It is untrue it is specific to ALS and absolutely there will be other explanations. Your emg did not show ALS.
i suggest you stop googling. Dr G is a terrible doctor and work with your real doctor

One abnormal MUP? That's like a hiccup. And the ulnar area is a frequent site of overuse injury. Rest your wrists if/when they hurt and live your life. Since your anxiety is infringing in your best life, counseling might be a good place to start.
