UK/Ireland trials: tudca or amx0035

Hello everyone

We have been offered tudca as part of tricals. However with placebo would we be better just buying the drug ?

or hold out for / buy amx0035?

what do you think?

Amx0035 is supposed to have a phase 3 trial starting in Europe q3. It may be different with this trial but the original trial excluded you if you took any of the components in the three months prior to entry. Tricals is collaborating with Amylyx so it is a little weird they are starting a tudca trial too?

TRICALS is acting more as a clearinghouse for trials, than as a sponsor. So they will slot registrants into any appropriate trials without regard to potential overlap. And the TUDCA vs. placebo trial is investigator-initiated, not industry-sponsored, as is not uncommon when investigators want to see what % of brand efficacy a cheaper and possibly more accessible generic approach [in this case, trying one of two ingredients in AMX] provides.

For those Europeans interested, you can "prescreen" yourself a bit based on risk score for three trials (platform, Triumeq, trimetazidine) here. Of course, registering with TRICALS offers a wider selection.
