Hello! 24y male. I've been experiencing fasciculations for 2 months. In the same period of time, I've been experiencing dysphagia. It does not happen all the time, but it starts during some meals and it persists sometimes for days until it's gone.

The fasciculations happen all the time all over my body. One time I had one that made my middle finger move by itself.

5 days ago I started having cramps on the legs if I stood up for more than 10-30 seconds and on my belly too.

Besides that, I have a strange sensation of buzzing on my right leg, it feels like an internal tremor but it could not be seen nor felt by other people touching my leg.

I also have a sensation of something stuck in my throat when I have dysphagia and I have so many phlegm when it happens.

I have already gone to a neuro and described all the symptoms, except for the cramps that I didn't have before. He said that he would not even ask for an EMG as it can cause some pain and he was sure I didn't have it since he did all the clinical examination (reflexes, tested my strength, looked for palatal and tongue fasciculations).

The fasciculations stop when changing position or touching the muscle that has it. Today the cramps stopped, but I feel that my legs are weaker that normal.

I'm very very afraid that I have ALS. Does it sound like it? I have another neuro appointment tomorrow but I'm very anxious.

The cramps on my calves where both on the back and on the front of it. Now they relieved a little, but if I make much effort such as driving for too long or going to the gym they come back and it wasn't like this before. I used to go to the gym 5 times a week and have a good diet, but since this problems started I was not able to go to the gym or eat healthful anymore, so I think that it might be the issue, I gained 7kg and lost a good amount of muscle. I also have cramps on my forearms.

Nothing you describe sounds like ALS.

I would check in with your PCP and focus on reducing stress, improving sleep, and hydration before and during meals.
