Hi all,

I have had continuous left index finger twitching for 14 days now. No other symptoms apart from a very mild dull ache in left forearm that has been there for years. I am female, 30, and have no history of twitching or any other medical issue. No injuries, drugs, smoking, etc.

I have spoken to a doctor, had a blood test (no results yet) and have been given a referral letter to see a neuro consultant. I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety and would like to know if anyone else is or has experienced index finger twitching and what the cause was for the twitching. Is index finger twitching a symptom of ALS?

Thank you in advance for your help, it is much appreciated.

Anna, if you could read here first: Read Before Posting

In it you will read that a finger twitch for two weeks does not mean ALS. Please keep working with your doctor.

Take care

I'm sure this will be anything other than ALS. I don't say that often so clearly, but honestly a twitching finger for a couple of weeks is not an indication you are terminally ill.

All the best, the neurologist will shed light on what is going on and start treatment.

Thank you for your response.
