Trouble finding Dr in Chigago to

Posting for a friend. She is trying to find a Dr in Chicago to certify her husband for Medical MJ. In Illinois, you have to have a Dr you have you a relationship with to certify the need. Her husbands ALS doctors won't do it, and those are the only Dr's he sees. Any ideas?

Those doctors are scum, and not to be trusted. He should find new ones.

We're finding that some ALS doctors are amenable to their patients using MMJ.

I wouldn't get rid of the doctors your friend has now, but be honest with them.

What about calling the dispensaries? They must know whose orders they are filling. Or maybe check with the local cancer groups. Their members have need for this. They might be getting it from the oncologists but they might know pcps who prescribe too.

Dispensaries aren't open yet (Jan 2015), and clinics they have called are not accepting new patients.

After the mid-term election, I expect Obama to legalize cannabis. Recent tidbits to surface in the mainstream:

You can't overdose on pot.

Drug overdoses now kill more people than car accidents. . States with legalized MM have 25% fewer drug overdose deaths than the other states.
