I should have made clear that we had no out of pocket payment for the basic Hoyer, our Medicare supplement paid the copay.
 
That's a fair point, since the OP has a supplement, too, Kate.

Still, a power lift works better in many settings, so I would try that avenue first.
 
I had to pay the difference between a manual and power Hoyer price. It was 500 or so. Luckily, a local charitable organization stepped in and took care of it...
