Hi,
I have a differentiated DX or ALS or MMN. I have had physical therapy for about 4 months for possible rotator cuff tear (It hasn't helped much.). I had an MRI last week and I have a "full thickness tear in the anterior fiber with at least 1.8 cm of retraction and tendinosis and/or partial thickness tear in the posterior fibers."
I will see the orthopedic surgeon on Wed. July 9. I have had bursitis since I was 14 years old. (or 11 years old, I can't remember anymore :-D). That is probably the underlying cause, but this is all in my right shoulder and my functional symptoms for the neurological stuff are primarily in my right hand. I am right handed.
I searched for answers on the internet and this forum came up with a short thread but...
I have three 1/2 questions:
1. Is there a connection between the tears in the cuff and ALS/MMN?
2. Is surgery something more complicated with my other DXs.
3. Has anyone out there had the surgery and would you have it again?
Thanks, Peg
