Joel, It sounds awful! I agree that it would have been very hard for your son if you hadn't managed to hang on. Let us know what type of alarm/procedure you decide on.

Joel, so glad that your son found you in time! Please get an alarm right away!

Joel, glad you made it buddy. Thanks for the reminder how things can turn upside down in a flash.

Wow Joel, soo glad you made it.

Please get some sort of alarm for your self, please

cheers
Peter

I am just so glad that you are alright. That must have been a very frightening experience for both you and your son.

Joel, I too am so happy that your son came back in time. You know, everybody, we certainly do have the technology for a panic button that can be easily accessed/actuated in a situation like this. Let's add that to the growing list of things we need.--JK

Joel, I am soul happy that God isn't done with you yet!

Thank you everyone! I am deeply touched by your love and concern.

It really was not a scary thing at all. The only thing I was concerned about is the trauma to my son if I did not make it. I always wondered if your life would flash before your eyes but it didn't! LOL

I am still thinking of an appropriate alarm and will share with everyone what we do. I want to utilize our 2 way radios, they have a 7 mile range, are compact and have a “call button". All I need is some way to actuate the button as I don't have use of my hands. If I did I would have been able to put my circuit (air hose) back on. I have lots of ideas but don't have anyone to help.

Thank you again! Love You all!

OMG Joel! I am soooo glad you're ok but soooo sorry you (and your son) had to experience this. It must have been very traumatic. I think this was your call to action to get that plan in place, before something more serious occurs. Thank goodness you're okay.

Close call. Two suggestions. We bought several inexpensive wireless doorbells, all the same model / brand.
Then plugged them into several outlets throughout the house, and screw mounted the push button
to the lift chairs where I sleep, or spend time in the living room. One push of the button alerts the whole
house. The dogs join in by barking because they think it's the door bell. LOL

Oh my God Joel, thank goodness you are okay! Humm,, well about 20 years ago I was married to a very abusive man. After I kicked him out of the house and filed for a divorce I got an alarm system for my house. I paid an extra 50.00 and had an extra panic button that I could wear around my neck. (the extra 50.00 at the time also included an alarm that was so loud that nobody in the neighborhood could ignore it) This would work for you too, if there was a way to mount the panic button in a way where all you would have to do is bite it. Your neighbors are closer than 911, and 911 would get a call too. Just a thought my dear. Let us know what you come up with! Keep safe, you are to precious to lose! ......Hugs, Kari

Joel, So glad that you survived such an episode. It just goes to show that anything can happen at anytime and we all must be prepared to deal with whatever we are given. Sometimes it is so hard to remember everything. Although I always have my cell phone with me because it is my communication device also. I left the house one day without it and went to my daughters and couldn't tell her a thing using my homemade up sign language. lol. That was enough to make me remember it everywhere i go. But there will be things everyday we realize we need to prepare for and you have made us all aware of some of these things.
So happy you are fine.
