Hello,
Since I have a slow progression disease I am looking for opinion on Stem Cells treatment in Mexico. I see a lots of advertising on the web.
I wonder if anyone has experienced this treatment and what is the conclusion? Positive effects, improvement in muscle strength? Any comments are welcome. For your benefit, My onset was in October 2020 and as now I lost strength in my 2 legs only. I am using a walker for short distance ans a wheelchair for longest one. My upper body still in good shape, I can swim every day, I eat and drink anything.

Kind regards

Guy

This treatment is unregulated and unproven. I believe Steve Gleason had it and ended up with a complication that significantly affected his quality of life. We have had a few people report initial positive results but they all seem to go quiet after a month or two. Placebo effect is real. If it seems to be too good to be true it probably is. The ads I see are for places that claims their treatment helps multiple conditions. This is a huge red flag.

I am sorry but please don’t waste time money and energy and risk what health and function you have

Thanks for the advice…

Second that. Happy to hear of your slow progression and here is a thread with some proven ways (each has research behind it) to improve your quantity and quality of life. I would summarize it as, don't shrink your own world and use many of the same things to maintain your overall health as you would if you did not have ALS.

Best,
Laurie
