Does anyone else ever wonder if there's a connection between many of the people who post initially under 'could this be ALS'?

20 something male, lengthy and detailed description of their health issues, make it very clear they've read the sticky notes, proceed to mention numerous issues described in sticky notes pointing away from ALS, posts almost always mention twitching in various body parts being a primary concern...

They are almost certainly bots. I do not believe the bots are targeting us particularly. They show up in the mod queue flagged which means they have been reported by other communities. Spam is a huge problem on forums it used to be here as long term members will remember. You no longer see it because of various controls we now have The post approval for the first posts catches the ones that aren’t flagged but just having the controls seems to have discouraged much of it. Spam control used to take up a good part of the mod work
