I have always been a light sleeper, I have always awakened at the slightest odd sound and tossed and turned a lot. I am up at 0315 every day for work and on my days off cannot sleep past the first hint of sunlight in the room. Now, I sleep in till 10 or 11 on days off, my wife or adult children can walk in the room without me even noticing and I find myself sleeping in the same position for half the night and I'm even sore from not moving! My question is, would this be considered a sleep disturbance because it is different from my normal pattern? I'm not complaining, it's just so out of the norm for me.

I wouldn't say disturbance, exactly, but you're probably using more energy than before -- MNDs have a metabolic component. So when you're able to, not surprising that you're making the most of your sleep time, recharging your reserves.
