Hello! My sister was diagnosed three years ago. Symptoms started with heaviness in legs and cramping. In the last few months it seems she has gotten worse quickly. She is losing use of her hands and speech is becoming affected. She is extremely irritated by things touching her...clothing, blankets, seat belts. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you

sensory issues are not part of ALS. However, I know my husband is very touchy--but it is from the spasticity...if I pat his leg a little too hard it hops all over the place. he also went thru a phase when he was easily irritated by emotions and it made him irritable.

sorry cant be more help.

Clothing sometimes bothers me. I need everything loose now and even when it's cold I can't hardly bear to have a jacket on and especially nothing snug on my shoulders or touching my neck. Bed covers are irritating and I usually don't like them on my feet.

Yes, wrinkles and lumps and bras or tight fitting clothes or covers bug the heck out of me. I think it's very common fo us PALS.

Bottom of my feet are very sensitive, but that's about it so far.
