Hello,

I had an orthopedic surgeon diagnose severe atrophy and weakness in my infraspinatus muscle. It was not caused by a rotator cuff tear. I had an EMG 6 weeks ago but it was clean. Could this be ALS?

Severe atrophy and weakness in a single muscle is not ALS, but neither is it a diagnosis. To rule out something that should be addressed, like getting PT for an injury, I would seek out a second opinion with an orthopedist with a shoulder specialty -- you're in a good city for that.
