Thank you all so much first of all for taking a minute to listen to me. I really hate to bother you when you're already dealing with this.
My name is Brittany. I'm a 28 year old Black woman. I have a 16 month old daughter that I don't want to leave. I've been having intermittent shortness of breath since the month after I delivered, so September 2020. I also developed an eye twitch several months ago. Since then it's progressed to twitching in my calves, my bicep, my stomach, my cheek etc. And it happens frequently in a day. I also have what I thought was a lump on my forearm, but an ultrasound showed nothing. Now I'm scared that it's actually a dent in my forearm caused by atrophy. In addition, several weeks ago, I noticed that my hands seemed wrinkled but thought nothing of it. Anyway, I was looking up the cause of the twitching and came across ALS and scared myself witless. I've been googling this non stop since I found out 2 days ago. I feel guilty because I can hardly tend to my daughter for being on my phone searching. I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE LED WITH THIS, but I notice that on the back of my left hand especially, the muscles on the left side (underneath my pinky and ring finger) the muscles seem sallow and sunken. I have the same effect on the back of my right hand, but it's not as pronounced. Of course, I'm terrified that it's split hand sign. As I type this, my left eye and right thigh are twitching. I'll try to include a picture thank you so much for any help. And as an aside, do you know of many Black women my age with ALS.

Please see a doctor and read the link below
You will notice we ask people not to post photos as they are not helpful.
Dents are not atrophy and you need to be examined by a doctor who can explain what is going on.
Twitching means nothing.

Sorry about that, I should have read more carefully. I do have an appointment scheduled with my doctor on Thursday.
