Sorry this is happening Dennis. Although I got a cane before I was diagnosed I was pretty stupid. I needed a walker and fell twice with the cane before i purchased a rollator. Then I fell before I placed a device on the commode. And then twice with the rollator by stretching the limits of how it should be used.

The advice of others to start the process of obtaining the correct equipment is great advice.

I'm so sorry Dennis. Your in the right place both here and at MGH. Use the wealth of information offered here. It will help to make this journey a bit easier on you both. Take a minute to breathe as I'm sure you feel like you have been punched in the gut and then dig in. I'm sending a big hug to you both. Jlynn

I am so sorry you appear to be headed down this path. There is always hope that it could be something else. Even if you get a diagnosis of ALS, we encourage everyone to get a second opinion.

Watch out for falls. Get her the equipment she needs now.

Steve
