You have been told you don't have ALS, why are you wasting the time of people who do? Your novels are much too long for most of us to read. It is time for you to move on.

Your doctor's credentials are very good. Fellowship in neurophysiology at a respected teaching medical center and a board certification in it. He is a specialist in EMGs.

You need to believe what he told you.

I expect he said increased insertional activity is non specific and meaningless in this context and that complex repetitive discharges are also non specific, possible old nerve injury but not worrisome.

Time for emg? Surprised Wright said that. I have had multiple EMG done by experts because I am FALS and in research studies. There is one doctor who did an ncs and EMG and a neuro exam in under an hour. I can't tell you how long each part was but the EMG was very thorough - both sides, all areas. I doubt it took 1/2 an hour

It sounds as if you got great care. Please follow whatever path they recommended and be happy no ALS

I'm sorry, I tend to over explain things. I am truly sorry, it was never my intent to waste your time, I am just very scared.

Thank you for the response Nikki. I greatly appreciate it. After the exam, he told me he only found fasciculations and that was it. That is also what he told my neurologist. I later asked for a copy of the EMG, which is when I saw the Increased insertional activity and CRD. I looked it up, then started to really worry, as none of that was mentioned or explained to me. Thank you very much for clarifying that for me and for easing my worries about the thoroughness of my EMG as well as the experience of the doctor who administered it.

I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for spending some of your time reading and responding to my thread and for trying to help people like me when you are facing such a horrible disease. You are all truly inspiring. I will report back (hopefully with good news) once I figure out what is going on with me for people who might identify with my symptoms and are scared.
