He did a physical exam. All normal. When I said the twitches sometimes moved the joint he said that is not typical of ALS. I had no Babinski sign and no hyper reflexes or demonstrable weakness. He didn't recommend an EMG based on the normal exam and according to the local ALS.ORG, he's supposed to know what he's doing. I didn't push it because I'm really not suffering or impaired right now and I didn't really want to be stuck with needles if I didn't have to
. He said if weakness occurs where I can't do something that I used to be able to do, then to go see him again. I'm OK with that because as long as I don't get worse then I ought to just enjoy life, as so many of you have said, like each day is my last.
