Hi everyone,
Last week, I saw my neurologist to get the results from lumbar puncture and MRI tests that had been done. The tests showed nothing that would indicate anything other than ALS. He told me that it is now 80% to 90% likely that I have ALS.
I was surprised when he prescribed Rilutek for me, even though I have not been diagnosed, yet.
Is this common? It makes sense the way he explained it, that most PALS have lost much mobility by the time they are officially diagnosed, and it may be too late for much of the benefit of Rilutek if you wait.
Are there other people out there who took this drug before DX?
John
