This may help PALS and CALS in a similar situation.

I have a vehicle that the factory warranty is about to expire.

So, I looked into that car warranty company with the countless TV
commercials where that sports caster says, “Tell them the “Swammi”
sent you.” And… the people claiming this company saved them
thousands of dollars replacing their engine or transmission in the
TV commercial.

I did some deep research… they have an “F” rating with the Better
Business Bureau, thousands of complaints and Small Claims law suits.

Have you kept all your service receipts, oil change receipts, trans
service receipts, radiator flush receipts up to considering the plan?
You better have them if you do file a claim in the future.

Your repair bill…
You may end up having a co-pay… this company has a fixed labor
rate they pay… which may be below the rate your favorite repair
shop may have. The phone back and forth begins between the shop,
the company and you. Many shops don’t have the time for this and
they leave it up to you and the company… meanwhile your repaired
car sits.

No repair facility is going to hand you your keys until the repair bill
is paid… in full or the bill is worked out.

They have a plan that is $99 dollars a month, that's $1200 hundred
dollars for the year, $2400.00 for two. $3600.00 over three and on.
How often over all the cars you have you owned where you have
had to have a complete engine or transmission replacement like
the people in the TV commercial claimed they needed? Keep the
service up and that won't happen.

The old saying… “If it sounds too good to be true…”

There’s an easier way… put it on one of your credit cards or ask
about payment possibilities with your favorite shop or dealership.

OK, there may be folks out there who found this warranty company
saved them money… write it up.

Let's see. If I save the money maybe I could pay the bill myself without all the hassle.
If, like car insurance companies, they offer cheap replacements, I wouldn't be any further ahead.
Suing takes money, time, and is extremely nerve-racking.
It's a hard choice. In any case, I'm sorry for your trouble and disappointment.
Hope you are able to have everything work out in your favor at the least expense.
Don't get rid of your maps yet!

Beauty, you may have misunderstood as you wrote...

"I'm sorry for your trouble and disappointment.

I didn't sign up. I did my research first... which I encourage everyone to do
before they sign up for any after market warranty and those home warranties
from all those TV commercials.

Beware of what you Google, most of the first page are phony testimonials.
Often you have to scroll way down the page to find the actual Better Business
Bureau site for your area or state. The actual Better Business Bureau I checked
with... "they have an “F” rating with the Better Business Bureau, thousands of
complaints and Small Claims law suits."

Wonder how they can afford to pay for the countless expensive TV commercials.
And... that sports caster who says, "Tell them the Swammi sent you". I'm sure he
didn't do that for free. Famous people who do TV commercials are very well paid.

Another old saying... "Buyer beware."

You are absolutely correct. We purchased one from the dealer. Car was totaled before we ever needed to use it😲.
Phone calls we received, from "whom ever" to buy one when original warranty expired, were ignored😉.
We got so tired of hearing the words, "Last Chance", we felt like giving them a 😱 "Last Chance".

There were so many cheats calling us, up to ten calls a day, we stopped our land line. The silence is 👼 heavenly.
Blessings 🌻 abound. B😎.

Extended car warranties are scams.

The Federal Trade Commission announced earlier this year
that it has mailed more than $8 million in refunds to nearly
9,000 consumers who the agency said were conned by a Palm
Beach Florida based company. Money recovered from these
and other companies.

Another company based out of Miami Florida uses a mailing
scam where the letters appear to be from the manufacturer of
the car you purchased.

But… it is impossible to get the real name and address of these
companies. For some reason the FTC and Consumer Reports
won’t publish the names even though they are currently taking
action against them.

If you are getting phone calls you can contact… DoNotCall.gov.

And… all the home warranties advertised in TV commercials are
also for the most part scams too.

Ok, now that we are not spending $2 Million dollars a day, nearly
a Billion dollars a year to keep 2800 troops in Afghanistan… why
can’t that money be used to track down these criminal scammers ?
And... hackers.

Or, is scamming now legal? Really, they are nothing more than
Ponzi schemes, people are in jail now and going to jail because
it is a crime to run a Ponzi.

FYI
