Many lift chairs, bed controls, alert buttons and remote controls have buttons that for various reasons are difficult to push as we become weaker. Some controls dont have protruding buttons at all.
There is a simple and inexpensive solution. Your local hardware store will carry those adhesive backed acrilic cabinet door bumpers. They come in different sizes. Just peel them off and stick them to the button. They won't however stick to buttons made of silicone.
