So today was supposed a nonstressful relaxing day. After groceries and laundry, my favorite guy starts with...can you get me drink, I am hungry can you make me something, and wait for it...wait for it ...the most evil thing known to mankind....can you call verizon because the box isnt working!!!! After 45 minutes the connection is lost so when the customer survey pops up I slam them. 10 minutes later a supervisor is calling, sending yet another new box, and giving us a credit. This was not our deal! I am never supposed to have to deal with verizon.....Steve promised!

Oh, Goose, how I feel your pain! Chris recently dealt with Verizon so I haven't had that added to my duties yet. But......My hubby has been our mechanic and computer guy since I've known him. He wanted me to help with the car a couple months ago because he has only one hand than can grip anything. So, I'm following his instructions to carefully unscrew the part until he adds "Just don't drop it, because we will never find it again." So what do I do? Of course I drop it. Sigh. Big sigh from him. I suggested that as he does his voice banking, he could also record his long suffering sigh. I look around our house and see all of the "computery" things.....dsl router, wireless, server and I don't know how many computers in his office... and know at some point I will need to become familiar with the arrangement of the tangle of cables, and how to change things and reboot. At least I follow directions well. Just don't tell me not to drop something. ;-) Dealing with Verizon deserves a follow-up glass of wine I think. Cheers, Kathleen

BigMark one of the first things I will do when the "contract" expires is get rid of verizon. Time warner has an office just down the road so we can swap out equipment etc. The service isnt any better but I can plant myself there until they fix things. Years ago we had verizon and aftrr spending hours and hours on the phone with them, getting threatened by them, I swore I would never deal with them. But sadly, theeeeir back!!!!

Oh Goose, how I can identify with your Verizon call. Hubby can't talk so I have to make all the calls. I hate it most when they can't speak English so I can understand them. CiCi

Getting ready for bed, starting to crawl in and steve remembers he was supposed to send his dad some photos. So I go to help. 45 minutes and back spasms later,we located the pics. Now its time to sleep...

I do hope you got some good sleep last night, Steph.

You are kinder than me. I would have "rescheduled" the pictures for the next day. I'm lucky that Matt is still very aware of how lack of sleep affects me.. It's not pretty.

I was exhausted last night, and when I saw red clay mud on the PWC tires I almost lost it--long story about taking the dog for a walk after dark yesterday. I've cleaned carpets twice this week, cleaned the chairs, including getting ice melt off the big knobby tire, and cleaned what looks like grease spots off the carpet. I started to say that anything on the carpet will stay on the carpet, and I felt myself really spinning up and heading for a crash. I headed it off, but just barely. Then the contractor called (wonderful man) and wanted to come by early to look at some things Matt wants done. Nope. Not today.

I wish I could gift you a nap for here. A really long nap.

Becky

This morning, bright and early, my 13 year old starts asking end of life questions. Hubby tells me he wants to visit cemetaries to figure out which one he wants to be buried in. I get home from work to an end of life discussion with hubby. Calgon, take me away!!!??

Relaxation, what is that?????? CiCi

Had to run to lowe's for concrete sealer....and got hit on

LOL, love it! Hope it wasn't too creepy. I had a older (80's) gentleman come into the library after he heard about Chris' diagnosis. He said to me,"Don't worry, you're pretty good lookin' and young and you'll do okay for yourself. You're smart. Not like most women. Most women are pretty dumb." OMG I could hardly wait for him to leave so I could laugh and cry. And be horrified. But mostly entertained. I feel sorry for his wife though.

Sunny the guy said "you have a beautiful physique. Very strong but curvy. You are truly blessed" I thought the cashier, who was 75ish, was going to lose it

Actually it kind of made my day. So long since anyone paid me a compliment.

Totally wonderful compliment! Yes, maybe kind of inappropriate, but more thought went into it than the usual "Hey, nice (insert prominent body part here)!" You really can't go wrong with a strong and beautiful physique.

Glad it made your day. Sometimes it's the little things.

Ummm....Verizon. Like Foxtel?
Don't worry. They sound like they suck anyway.

The few times in my life I've been chatted up were by scary blokes I don't even want to think about...

Except this bloke came in to the reception of the hotel I was working at and invited me back to his room. I said staff were not allowed to socialise with house guests. The next night, I found out later, two of the waitresses went back with him!

He was a semi regular, and came back about a month later with his FIANCÉ in tow! Poor girl, maybe I should have warned her what an ar$ehole she was getting landed with!

Gooseberry....how I can relate to this!! I had to call and handle several months of interaction with mortgage/debt collectors about a deed and lieu on a house that I didn't even own with him. There is something about making phone calls to these people with their crappy microphones that I have to repeat everything, having to wait on hold first for 1/2 hour, type in the account number only to be asked for it when they answer....stuff I can't handle online for whatever stupid reason....I totally get it. And he wants me to handle it the way he would if he could, say what HE would say if he could, ugh.

Today is one of "those days" for me. It started out good and then a few things happened when I tried to get something done. I appreciate your rant.
