I wanted to give an update. My twitching has significantly subsided and I now look back on my "scare" in early 2019 with some shame, mostly incredulous as to how I could have thought I had ALS. When the appointments and tests did not allay my concern, I finally took my doctor's advice and took some anti-depressants for their anxiety relief properties. I believe they broke the anxiety spiral. I have ceased taking the drugs and yet I have not had a return of the anxiety.
The [perceived] stiffness in my leg is gone. I still twitch - mostly in my calves, left eyelid and lip - but don't give it too much attention. Otherwise my only health problem has been a return of appetite and, in-turn, some weight.
I recommend staying away from this website/forum if you have any anxiety, especially if you have already been cleared by doctors.
