Well, I can't rest and now am beside myself with worry. Since getting discharged from the hospital last week I have lost 8 lbs. Both legs (calves) still stiff and tired with occaissional twitching. Stiffness in hamstrings not as pronounced. Some weakness in both arms and stiffness in uper jaw area. Haven't been eating well due to some perceived swallowing difficulty in the back of my throat but no choking. Has anyone had normal emg's with this level of symptoms, or as widespread?

Hi billy,

I feel for you.
Are you taking anything for the anxiety?
I have no diagnosed yet.
My emg's are still normal. (that's the thing I can't understand)
I have atrophy in my hands going up my forearms, in my feet really bad (they are cramped and contantly burning) plus many more symtoms and very widespread. Twitches and fascilations.

Anxiety

Hi Crystal, Xanax was prescribed by pcp but does not seem to touch the level I experience and I have rapidly become extremely depressed. Had a follow up visit with neuro on the 15th who ordered more tests and prescribed an antidepressant, I think it is called trazadone or tracadone, anyone know anything about this drug? Anyway, I am a basket case right now.

Trazodone

Billy,

Trazodone is antidepressant that has been around for a very long time. It can be help helpful both for depression and insomnia. If this is not helpful for your anxiety, an SSRI such as Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil or another drug in this class might be a good choice. Priapism is a potential side effect. (See Viagra commercials!)
