Questions Regarding New Diagnosis

I have taken care of my partner with ALS and am PoA for a person in a nursing home. They are care level 3 - in assisted living. It is very expensive and they are not even close to the care a person with ALS needs. The nursing unit would be even more expensive and more like a hospital setting. My friend is mostly in their room by themself, bored, but cannot do much, watching TV. They are 96. I think the staff has to check in on them 4 times a day. Bringing a cup of coffee in the morning counts as 1 of these times. The staff there could not possibly have enough time to take care of a person with ALS. If there is another covid case everything will be shut down again and no visitors will be allowed. Laurie and Nikki are correct. The money the nursing home charges can easily pay for a good caregiver and you can do the care more on your terms. I am so sorry all of you find yourself in this situation.
