I have bulbar onset als. I don't want to share any more because at this point your best bet is to follow up with your doctor. I do not think you have ALS, and I still think you should make an appointment with an ENT. Get your second emg of tongue and upper body for peace of mind so you know once and for all and let us know what they say. Good luck.

Zach, I hope you are being evaluated for allergies, which are a lot more common and likely in your case than ALS, which as Karen points out, your symptoms don't really overlap. I don't just mean dust or pollen, but food.

Remember, we have no reason to believe twitching, which means nothing in and of itself, is related to any of your saliva/speech/choking. There is no harm in using a nasal steroid before bed to see if it helps. You can also record your sleep on your phone and see if your breathing sounds off; if so, that is additional information that might help your doc order a sleep study.
