If your VA doctor prescribes Nuedexta, he may have to justify the expense because Nuedexta is not on the VA's national formulary. It costs $600 monthly.
GB:
I've tried twice to get Neudexta from the pharmacy on Davis-Monthan AFB but they say they will not order or ever carry it. The person I get that from is a pharmacy volunteer, but I get the impression that because the drug is a compound, they're not allowed by DoD regulations to carry it. All that said, I haven't tried to get it from the VA here in town, but it sounds like any military-associated health care facility may be constrained by the same regs.
My Tricare EOB shows a bottle of 60 capsules is nearly $700 but fortunately the co-pay is only $17.
I love hate it. On it, I can now drink liquids without aspirating, and it lessens the crying, but it causes more trembling, which I address with CBD lotion: buyhemjoba.com . I average less than one pill a day.
I still choke on phlegm, which I rid with the cough assist.
