ALS is a disease of muscles weakness/athroy and not twitches?

Once someone notices the twitches - does the person also notice weakness (clinical) along with that? Or does the muscle weakness is first noticed and then the twiches occur?

In ALS the twitches are constant, while BFS the muscle twitches are only when the arm/leg or the affected muscle is at rest?

In ALS the twitches won't go away simply by streaching or moving the mucle?

Any response is appreciated.

Ok I have ALS. Twitching is not contant for me. At first I had none just slurred speech Then five years after I started twitching and then where the twitching was I noticed weakness and athropy. Now after 9 years I very rarely feel twitching. Now I have painful cramping everyday

Hope that helps Pat1

So the twitching occurs where the muscles are weak? I read that once the muscle wastes aways there is no twitching. Is it possible that you get twitching in your arms and your legs feel weak?
