hi...im new here...I have been having certain symptoms...and have questions about whether this could be a possibility of having ALS...the symptoms I have are...tremors in left hand an arm...its close to impossible to move te fingers on my left hand..as I type this ts with my right hand...my left arm constricts all the time.....I have noticed other little things..but to be honest I don't want anxiety to run away with me...I definitely feel that something is very wrong...just not sure if it could be this...would appreciate your input..thanks

What does your doctor say about your symptoms?

ive had these syptoms for almost 5 yrs... im osrry ..probably should have mentioned that..at the time they suspected parkinsons disease...went to specialist at Columbia presbyterian in NY..hedid not believe I was parkinsons

Five years and still confined to one arm make ALS VERY unlikely. 80% of people with ALS die within 5 years. You need to go back for reevaluation. Clearly something is wrong and that is the only way you can find out

ALS is a progressive disease. If you've had these symptoms for five years and it hasn't involved any other muscle groups at this point, you definitely don't sound like ALS. But something is wrong. Find a doctor who will get to the bottom of this. Good luck!

There is a rare one-arm-only motor neuron disease variant. If you have an EMG on your arm and other limbs it can be diagnosed. But your symptoms could also be surgically treatable (a spinal cord lesion, for example). Going through the diagnostic process is the only way to know. All the best.
