Question about Riluzole(or Rilutek)

Hello all,

It has been a while since I last log in this Forum. Recently, I've a friend who will travel to U.S soon, I want him to help to purchase 1-2 pcs Riluzole, the bring it back to China for My Mom. So My question is :

1. The Medicine's exact name should be "Riluzole" or "Rilutek"?
2. Could this medicine can bring back to China? I want to know is there any regulation from FDA to restrict it of being out of United States.

Hopes anyone who knows about the related regulations can help me! Thanks in advance.

Hi, Andy ... I BELIEVE the brand name is Rilutek, but I have heard it referred to as Riluzole, also.

As far as I know, the issue will be with China's regulations, not the US. If the medicines are prescribed legally in the U.S. were purchased here and are a small quantity for personal use (which yours would be) I THINK there would be no problem at the U.S. end. Rilutek is not a "controlled substance." But you'd better check it out at your end and maybe at a US Embassy.

How is your mom doing, by the way? I hope she is holding steady.
