my 2 cents

Just want to give my 2 cents worth on morphine. My mom is in the last stages of Bulbar onset als and recieves hospice. She is on a bipap 24-7. Morphie was made available to her from hospice but she decides when she wants it. She has no pain but it is given to relax her breathing. She does not take high doses so it does not affect her level of alertness. We have found it very beneficial and let her determine how often.

Thanks Sass , i am thinking that the next step will be morphine so i am so glad to hear from you and your experiance with your mom....I just want to keep my husband comfortable....i appreciate your input and it does put my mind at ease i do not want him to suffer......thanks ...gina
