Hi everyone. I have a younger brother with ALS (non-genetic) that started with fasciculations around his shoulder and arm prior to experiencing weakness in his hand. I have recently noticed fasciculations in my legs (primarily calves) and also in my upper body and arms. I've had no weakness or any other symptoms. I'm physically active and 45 years old. I went to my doctor and he thinks it's benign (combination of age/physical activity), but still sent a referral for EMG testing. Is this worth doing? Will an EMG pick up anything if I'm not having weakness? Does EMG testing give a definitive answer? Many thanks, Sean
