Hi my name is Josh, I'm currently 19 and just had some general question about als, more specifically bulbar onset just so I can possibly get a better understanding of my symptoms.

Does als typically present within multiple body parts over a short period?
How does bulbar onset present and are there any specific feeling associated?
Are the tongue fasciculations constant, and wide spread?
What does Acutal clinical weakness feel like?
Does constant fasciculation and aching a indication?

Thanks, I appreciate the help.

Josh, we are reluctant to answer questions like yours in detail because it only
fuels your anxiety and others.

As I have written many times before... you only being 19 the odds against you
having ALS is almost 6 digits against you having ALS. ALS is a rare disease
and even rarer would be someone just in their teens coming down with ALS.

I don't think you have seen a doctor yet.... that needs to be done first.

Yes, you may want to learn about ALS, that's ok but... don't let it get in your
head until you see a doctor.

Someone else may answer your questions but follow what they may
suggest.

Hi Josh
sorry you find yourself here.
Start by reading this slowly through a couple of times.
Do not progress to reading loads of threads here or searching further on google - that is the worst thing you can do.
Then go see a doctor as a clinical examination is definitely needed.
Then follow your doctors advice.

I am sure whatever is happening can be addressed if you seek medical advice.

Hi Josh, it's hard to mistake bulbar ALS for anything else. If you're asking these questions, it's very unlikely you have it and from your questions, I am even less concerned. As you will have noted by reading here, ALS is about failing, not feeling.

But seeing a doc will put your mind at ease and bring the focus to anything that should be treated.

Best,
Laurie

ugh I posted without pasting the link to what you need to read carefully
here tis

Josh, I see you are reading an old thread "Question about ALS" back to April 2021.

Above it was suggested really not to do that but... I did say it's ok to learn about
ALS. I'll give it a try again, try hard to give this a break until you see a doctor first.

Being over 18 I'd think you'd have no problem getting am appointment. And...
if you are still living with your parents run all this with them if you haven't.

And now I see you're searching "Salomea". Whatever, if you think it is helping
you in some way. Maybe you'll learn you really don't have ALS. :)

Thanks for the responses
My PCP referred me to a neuromuscular appointment and neurologist.

great! although a neuromuscular is a specialised neurologist so maybe you just need see one specialist.
Let us know how it goes and good luck.
