Hi All,
I was just wondering whether these symptoms sound like ALS/MDN
I'm 26 years old when i was 21 I was lifting boxes i know the saying lift with your legs not with your back but i got some electric shock feelings in my back so i stopped. I never had any problems with my back after that.
I suffer from bad acid reflux in which i take Omeprazole for daily and I had an endoscope check 2 years ago which came back and just indicated GERD. I was still complaining about swollen throat when i swallow it's very loud and crackles in both ears and sometimes when i drink it feels like it gets stuck but then goes down which has been the case for the last years or two, so i continued to query the doctors and one suspected i had a lump on my thyroid so i was sent for an ultrasound which came back negative and the doctor who did the ultrasound just suggested i had a slightly enlarged goitre or thyroid. I persisted with this as it still felt a bit discomforting and the doctor agreed to take another blood test and send me for an MRI of my neck. Last week which came back with slightly elevated levels of CK. I explained to him of the dull aches and slightly weakened grip in both of my forearms intermittently so he suggested that we get a rheumatlogist/neuro specialist to have a look.
I play alot of football and i havent been playing to the level i normally do due to a hot and cold flashes with a sensation from the back of my head going down my body like pins and needles. Doesn't affect my mobility but just the lack of energy that i never really had a problem with.
Along with the above i do get muscle twitching all over my body, tremors in legs arms, and occasional random jolts... Which only appears to come on since worrying so i put that down to anxiety.
Before i had the ultrasound of my thyroid the doctor did do a thyroid function test which came back ok. this was almost a year ago
