First time posting on this Forum. I have been diagnosed with ALS since August, though have had the facilitations for over a year. Hands and arms are weak, and need a Trilogy to breath at night and during the day off and on. I have been off again on again with Jesus my entire life and to be honest am pretty ashamed of my sinfulness over the last 59 years. However it took ALS to finally put me where I needed to be with the Lord and I am forgiven :). I am happy I have repented of my sins and I believe in Jesus Christ, and I thank God for the peace he has given me as I now face death. Of course hopefully death is far off yet, and of course all men and women die, but as my fellow ALS or PALS I guess we are called, know, we face it a bit more in your face I guess you could say :). Anyway for those PALS or caregivers out there who want to live forever in Heaven, and not go to Hell, please know there is a way out, not to mention the peace that passes all understanding while you are still here on earth. Repent and believe in Jesus Christ. Get a bible out, and read the book of John. Pray and find a good church. I can no longer go to church, but I watch online, and I reached out and started meeting one on one with someone from church once a week so I get some fellowship. Anyway as much as we need to focus on wheelchairs and feeding tubes and breathing machines and etc., remember to also keep in mind eternity and where you will spend it. I can't imagine myself facing what I am facing without God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Seek Jesus Christ. Regards, Mark Davis

Hi, Mark. Welcome to the forum. Sorry that your diagnosis has brought you here but you have found a community of welcoming and supportive patients and caregivers.

Thank you for your boldness in encouraging people to seek God through Jesus Christ.

I have been strengthened by the knowledge that everyone will die at some time from some cause and that I am not wise enough to know the proper time or reason for my own death. Through Scripture and faith I believe that only God knows what that timing is supposed to be and I must trust that he has not made a mistake in my case.

I am glad to know that you are able to enjoy fellowship with someone from your church.

Best regards,

Thanks Bill, I really appreciate your post. You are right the Lord knew us before eternity, and knows when we would be born and when we will leave this earth. He is sovereign and His perfect will, will be done in all things and he makes no mistakes. We need to trust Him, our Savior and Creator, and it sounds like you do :)

2 Peter 3
8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
